Hi all,...

So to my immense joy, Hexbear has started appearing on the front page again. Instance blocking is not available, and even the regular block feature sometimes fails (on certain communities?) for no clear reason. I've already tried blocking their "DuNk tAnK" and politics sub, it errors in a way that doesn't seem to happen...

They seem to allow pedo crap (like actual advocacy), thus putting our instance into danger.

There used to be a handy 'hide' option hiding under the 'more' menu. It seems to have been removed. Any chance of getting it back?

I know there's block, but "block" currently blacklists the entire magazine. If I click on it, it wipes all the threads on /all/, prevents me from looking at threads on the magazine landing page and all comments in the threads should I venture in. A "filter" would be a soft block that just clears it from my feed on the main page....

I'd like to save useful comments and posts for giggles and knowledge. This feature exists in reddit and Lemmy....

Today, I started working on a provisional spam protection that should at least partially relieve admins of other instances. Work on this will continue, and the tools will be improved over time. As scrolling to the bottom of the page to leave a comment can be a hassle on posts with lots of existing comments, an option to put the thread comment box above existing comments would be helpful....

It's still tiny numbers in the scheme of things, but also quite a big number for a site that had ~30 users this time last month....

Ive spent the last week in shock at the lack of moderation because magazines and federated stuff is only moderated by @ernest who I know is busy with development. But the magazines that are on kbin.social and were setup as "Template" magazines are getting trashed either with spam/porn or toxic comments that were reported long...

When I'm on Firefox, I can attach an image to a "Photo" post, but the upload button doesn't do anything. On Safari, I can't even attach the image in the first place....

I know Ernest is working on getting ready to update kbin.social but are there any other instances which are faster with the bug fixes and updates?

Are there plans for a 'hide thread' feature, under 'more'? (next to comment and boost)...

Still no API to enable official apps and no moderation tools. It really feels like it's lagging behind Lemmy at this point. Lemmy's growth has significantly outpaced kbin and it feels like it's going to just die a slow death now....
