I think we should slightly rethink how login works on most Fediverse apps (Mastodon, Lemmy, but not only) (kbin.social)

A Texas farm worker contracted H5N1 from dairy cattle, indicating a new route of transmission for the virus, which has a high mortality rate and diverse symptoms in humans. The United States’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a health alert after the first case of H5N1 a

This is possibly the first interview I’ve ever seen where he looks a little less spry than we’re used to, but my goodness the man doesn’t quit.

I forced myself to go back a little to Reddit recently. Because while I endorse and love the existence of the Fediverse, I can't in good conscience, tolerate the instability of it. Any other time I go somewhere, I'm met with a page that says KBin is working on resolving issues, then I go somewhere else and it's fine....
I don't have a lot to say this time, but here's the biggest Interstellar update we've had so far. This update includes almost full support for Lemmy (notification viewing, direct messages, and post creation don't work yet though), there's a new user/magazine mentions feature, user profile pages now let you view a user's comments...
First off, I want to say I appreciate all the hard work that goes into kbin - it can’t be easy running this....

@ernest, we love you man, and we're grateful for the service you provide. But this site has needs that can't be met by one person: community mod approval, emergency status communication, spam management, and account management are just a few that immediately come to mind....
I'm moving over to Mbin (hopefully ernest can sort kbin out, but until then), and id like to bring my subscriptions over without manually doing it. any methods? thanks
I’m honestly kind of thrilled, I assumed DC vs. Marvel and Amalgam would be lost to the dustbin of history.
Link to post, cool of @StillPaisleyCat to summon him.

Hello. I will be taking fedia.io offline on Saturday, Feb 3 to rehome it to a different server. Since moving fedia.io to a container-based platform, federation has been very unreliable and slow. I'll be moving to a non-container-based/bare metal install, which should address the federation issues.
I've been recommended some communities on Lemmy servers, but when I go to kbin.social/m/community_name@server, I get a 404. What do I need to do for a community to get federated?
So im pretty happy with users just being able to block and control things themselves but there has been posts from this somali call girls account where I feel like the extra step of reporting is warranted.
i don't want spam or posts against the rules to be showing up on other sites like lemmy because the deletion on kbin isn't federated, it feels irresponsible to me and will make the community look bad. can i delete a magazine?
I’m blocking probably hundreds of mags (all mags on Cloudflare sites like lemmy.world). The results of search queries are rich in posts from blocked mags. When I visit the post the sidebar shows that indeed that mag is blocked....
I never played CoH, but this is neat.
