There are at least several types of holes in the federation: * Unfederated profile - support suggestion here https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues/1341 * unfederated replies to the post at a given time * unfederated entries at the time How to handle this? Answers I often see ...

With the abandonment of Artemis (formerly kmoon), kbin is now only really usable by the mobile site. The site is really not suited for mobile devices however, and there have been minimal user-facing changes in the last few months....

Some animals, particularly certain species of reptiles, fish, and insects, are capable of reproducing through a process known as parthenogenesis, commonly referred to as "virgin birth." In parthenogenesis, females can produce offspring without mating with a male. Instead, the female's egg develops into an embryo without...

I am going to be rehoming fedia.io to a new server. Today, fedia.io runs on shared app server and shared database server. I will be moving fedia.io to a dedicated 48 core/96 thread AMD epyc server with 256GB of RAM, which will house both the app and the database. This is less about fedia.io and more about the other apps running...
Salutations. After lurking around and reading posts for a few weeks, I have just created an account on this instance. Mostly, the experience has been good, but I am having one major issue: Shaka when the walls fell with two-factor authentication. When I press the button in my account settings, I receive the error...

The popular Reddit alternative's user count has grown a lot over the past year. One problem, though: users and admins can't delete images.
Looks like Kbin is running a pretty huge federation backlog, as it's taking several hours for comments to federate out. I'm not knowledgeable about how these servers work, but is it teetering on collapsing or something?
I still like posting here....
There's a warning at the top, but I'm curious as to the "why". The comments that may or may not be visible seem to be a roll of the dice as well. If I respond to someone in a comment, I have no idea if they can see it.
You have no doubt noticed that federation is breaking again. I am painfully aware of it. The issue is with the symphony queue runner that processes incoming messages from other instances. Occasionally, the server receives a message that causes the queue runner to die. I have to manually remove the offending message out of...
Is the fediverse GDPR-compliant? A horror story of uploading sensitive PII to lemmy and the numerous bugs that blocked its removal.
I just noticed today that old.startrek.website isn’t loading properly. The fact that zero people have said anything to the admins makes me wonder if anyone’s using it at all. So speak up if you are! I will be happy to fix it for you, but otherwise may just uninstall....
I don't have a lot to say this time, but here's the biggest Interstellar update we've had so far. This update includes almost full support for Lemmy (notification viewing, direct messages, and post creation don't work yet though), there's a new user/magazine mentions feature, user profile pages now let you view a user's comments...
Hi all....
