Hello, I have added this feature to KES (third party extension) today. I believe it is working correctly based on your requirements:
Show an icon next to magazine names on the main thread index (https://kbin.social or https://kbin.social/sub if logged in). Click this icon to "softblock" threads from that magazine from appearing on your main thread index. This does not block the magazine outright: you can still go to the magazine directly, so it is less aggressive than a total block.
Show a Softblock/Unsoftblock button in the sidebar of magazines, as well as in the Magazines index located at https://kbin.social/magazines. As you would expect, this button has the effect of adding/removing a magazine from your filters.
Show a tab at the top of the Magazines index that you can use to centrally manage your softblocked magazines. For the time being, this is merely informational.
Full details can be found in the release notes here over at /m/enhancement.
Let me know if this gives you the functionality you wanted.
You can pull up a feed of the threads that you've upvoted/favorited in the sort method next to your username on the top right. If you change the view to microblogs, it also changes the feed to microblogs that you've favorited. It's a bit different from saving from Reddit/Lemmy, as I don't think there's a way to display saved comments yet, but I hope this will help a bit at least.
It's nice to be at the bottom. In this manner, you can reduce the number of people who show up and say the same thing without speaking to one another. basketball stars
Sort of like "listen before you speak" is ingrained in the design.
Hi, not sure if this is the right thread but here goes.
Issue:
Threads do not seem to federate properly.
Description:
Until a month ago or so, submitting a thread to a federated instance (tested on: feddit.it, sh.itjust.works) threw an error page, but the thread was regularly posted. Example: https://feddit.it/post/1868675
If it can be of help, posts, links and comments seem properly federated to the same abovementioned instances, i.e. appear on target instances within a few seconds. No error displayed when submitting.
Hope this can be addressed sooner or later. Right now I'm using local accounts on those instances to work this around.
This seems to already be implemented and probably coming once Ernest is able to finish the update. You might be able to find other instances that are already featuring this.
Like, I saw strings regarding this when contributing to translations yesterday. Some setting in the sidebar's gear menu to toggle the position.
If it's really bugging you, you could put something like this in a GreaseMonkey script:
function move_comment_add() {
let comment_add = document.getElementById("comment-add");
let comments = document.getElementById("comments");
comments.insertAdjacentElement("beforebegin", comment_add);
}
move_comment_add();
Too many posts weren't federating with kbin so I had to make a lemmy account to avoid missing comments from non-kbin communities, so hopefully the federation issues get fixed at some point.
Longer comments have a band at the bottom of the text with a double arrow which, when click on it, is meant expand and show the rest of the text. On mobile, it doesn't uncover all the text. Is there an option to disable this feature so that comments are not collapsed?
