Happens on reddit anyway. Even though people can’t see who downvoted them, they guess. Or someone (or a brigade) mass downvotes not because you downvoted their comment but just because they disagree with or resent your comments. Reddit avoided this by ignoring repeated downvotes from one person and on profile pages.
Personally, if there’s someone who is really abrasive or I just really disagree with and find their posts agitating or distracting, I just block them and that avoids the problem for both of us.
I have the downvote button hidden completely using the KES script because of that issue.
Reddit allowing you to hide your own up/downvotes to others is a really nice privacy feature that I wish the Fediverse in general had, but unfortunately the nature of federation doesn't make that possible unless you prevent them federating to other servers.
I'm not sure what you mean by "Advanced Search -URL" but on Kbin you can put federated #links on the search bar to get (or create) the Kbin version. It works with microblogs, threads and comments.
There are browser extensions available that can help with the choice. From old-school Reddit habits, I tend not to use them on kbin, but here's an example from the one I use in other places: 🥦 (Hoping broccoli is a safe choice and doesn't have any weird alternative meanings.)
Having formatting codes for emojis is fine, but they are quite niche (does it even work for other languages?), it would be more convenient for most users to integrate a graphical emoji selector.
Well, English isn't my native language and I can still find an emoji within 1-2 seconds with a code (they're coded English).
Of course localizationing emojis (or anything) would need work done.
I'm still getting this error. Seems to be related to how long the page is open before the error starts. I have to reload the page and like everything quickly, because after a few minutes it will take me to the error page.
Yeah I'm tempted to make a version of "newcommunities" for Kbin since MagHub just doesn't roll off the tongue (and is abandoned, although I doubt that is why it's so weak)
