santisbon, to random I may be the only one but for #fediverse apps I prefer a PWA over a native app. Small teams building apps that don't need direct access to hardware benefit from putting all their energy and resources into one (1) platform.

kik, to random So, how is #ActivityPub implementation in #GitLab going? Steadily, if a bit slowly!
In the last four months, we've been working on implementing the first ActivityPub actor, the one allowing to subscribe to projects releases. The ActivityPub part is already written, but there will still be a couple month before it's fully merged. Turns out that the most time consuming part is code review : there is no dedicated team to this (but there is a dedicated developer assisting me, thanks Patrick!), so people reviewing code discover ActivityPub at the time they have to review it (and, by the way, it's incredible how they get out of their way to help a contributor on such a complex subject, they rock). For that reason, we have to make smaller than usual merge requests, splitting the feature as much as possible, and then some again, to make it as easy to understand as possible. And even then it usually takes about a month to get one chunk merged.

anubis2814, to random Hey #fediverse. Not to brag or anything but #Friendica now has its own versions of #Tiktok and #pixelfed where you can filter just video, just audio or just pictures. A few bugs need to be hammered out with images in the css department but the hard part is all done.
hankg, to random OK Enough playing with the new Friendica...back to the tasks I am supposed to be doing. The Bluesky bridge, the thing I've been looking forward to the most seems to be working very well. Posts from Friendica shows up there, with proper segmentation if longer than their paltry 300 character limit. Following an account from the Friendica side propagates over to the Bluesky Account. Reshares/likes/comments on Bluesky posts done in Friendica are properly reflected there. Reshares/likes/comments on fediverse posts do not show up over there, as expected. The Bluesky content is not federated to other fediverse servers, as expected. I can't even get it to come up with a direct link search. So all thumbs up! The only hiccup I've found so far is posts that are reflected from Friendica to Bluesky seem to show up in Relatica as from my Bluesky user when they are split up. Still overall excellent work to everyone that worked on it, especially @heluecht

Gikiski, to fedia Confession: I still don't know what boost does here. It must do something bad because so rare do I see on a post "boost(1)" or "boost(anyothernumber)" for that matter. Should I also avoid "boost"? Or does the interface only show when our individual boosts?
hrefna, to random The thing about the 'Big fedi, small fedi' article is that it sets up a false dichotomy.
I think that the fediverse can be very big and also much safER than extant social media (or the fediverse as it sits today).
Moderation can require a human touch and moderation can also be rendered much less necessary by automated tools (note I didn't say "we can do moderation by automated tools," I'm making a very nuanced distinction between moderation and other safety tools).
etc.

Damaskox, to kbinMeta I still keep losing comments.
Stuff pointing from notifications lead to no such comment - cannot find anything with Ctrl+F and I see no page numbers or any other indicators of any other pages existing.
tekkie, to random All self-aware communities on #Fediverse should suspend #Threads just as @aral has done. There's no need for a toxic corporate experiment with the aim to expand the monetisation of #HumanRights violations. #Privacy

box464, to random The number of Misskey forks continues to expand. How do we mention them collectively? I'm veering toward Forkeys, as in "Catodon is the latest Forkey to enter the stage." or "The Forkeys have one thing in common - emoji reactions."
I suggest checking them all out - each has their own strengths. :blobcatstrong:
