There was a time when I would have praised Stewart for getting out while the getting was good (ignoring his awful podcast), but it looks like he wants to go the way of Stephen Colbert instead. RIP in peace you god damn liberal.
Watching The Colbert Report and Daily Show in the 2000s was something I always looked forward to each night. It’ll be nice to have Jon back, if only once a week.
I’ve tried including tags for Mastodon user accounts here previously, but was never sure if the users were getting notifications. Nice that Brian Tatosky confirmed it and that he was able to reply directly.
He’s unveiling cruelty to his sociopathic shareholders, to their thunderous applause I’m sure.
You know, it’s like an art unveiling or a movie premiere, but for “hey shareholders, watch me hurt these people that helped us make money for years, ta da!”
It’s also a loud statement that screams as CEO they are too dumb, scared and uncreative to figure out how to improve the business. So instead of doing any real work they’ll just do the easiest and laziest thing and order the sacking of hundreds of people via many levels of management while putting themselves in a safe zone and spending extra time on their yatchs away from normal society.
I disagree, I'm able to get world events while they are happening realtime, from both reporters and lay people, and see which way the event is being colored and manipulated by comparing the two. It's invaluable.
For some equivalent posts we’ve seen significantly larger engagement numbers for Mastodon compared to X/Twitter, particularly given the relative sizes of different platforms.
I don’t do “Twitter style” social media much but when I did use my Mastodon account I found significant engagement. On Twitter my posts were invisible, but on Mastodon people found, liked, and commented on them. Conversation were good as well.
I was a beta tester for BlueSky and I found the same “invisibility” problem there. Same posts on Mastodon, Twitter, and Blue Sky and only the Mastodon ones generated responses or any acknowledgement for that matter.
I feel that the studios thought process for casting Pascal must have been something along the lines of “Who’s hot right now?” and “Who gives off Daddy vibes.” Don’t get me wrong I think he’s a fine actor, its just so far he’s kind of played similar roles in everything I’ve seen him in at least. I’m curious to see if he has the range.
I wonder what happened to Krasinski? I wasn’t the biggest fan of him in the role either but he seemed like a shoe-in considering he already played the character.
It was interesting, even at the time, it seemed like everyone was talking about Krasinski as a cameo, and not necessarily a long-term plan. It’s been a weird era for Marvel.
The rumors have been around for a while. Still, good to have it confirmed. Thats two potentially good movies Marvel have announced - Deadpool and F4 - back to back. Hopefully it’s a return to form. But it’s way too soon to say.
