The beginning of the end.

dejected_warp_core,

Ha! First thing I thought of when seeing the headline: “Glad Destin got everyone’s attention.”

Lol, the AI is just going to emit nonsense like “holy hell”, “thanks for the gold, kind stranger”, “I too choose this guy’s wife”

It looks like they may have done some frenzied patching after this went viral.

    Gargantu8,

    Fascinating!

Same, but I suspect that’s Amazon blocking them all, rather than all the bot accounts fixing the issue.

    LordKitsuna,

You can still find them using internet archive people were archiving them

    Gargantu8,

    Cool thanks!

anas, to quarks in Reddit is making sitewide protests basically impossible

Sitewide protests are still possible: Just stop modding.

I like this lol that’s actually what I proposed to do with /r/StarTrek back in '21 but was outvoted

CaptObvious, to fediverse in President Biden is now posting into the fediverse

    Threads isn’t exactly the fediverse.

    btaf45,

They don't have the entire Mastodon functionality yet but it is awesome we can follow Biden on Mastodon.

    CaptObvious,

They’ll never have the full Mastodon functionality because they’re Facebook. It’s always going to be a one way proposition where Masto can see them but they can’t see us. It’s honestly kind of like being a creepy Peeping Tom.

Assuming, of course, that your instance doesn’t block Threads. Many (most?) do. Some even block second-degree connections.

    btaf45,

They’ll never have the full Mastodon functionality

Until they do, my only interaction with Threads will be to follow Biden on kbin.

Man that reminds me that I haven’t deleted all my posts and comments yet! Anyone got a good program for that?

    NotAtWork,

If you delete content it just flags it as not public, Reddit will keep the data, they have shown this by undeleting content in the past.

    Mr_Mofu,
    @Mr_Mofu@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Yeah, I just wanna rob the place of all the content I put on it. If they reinstate the comments and posts ill just request a complete EU compliant clensing

    Maalus,

They don’t care. The content will stay either way. It’s been done before.

Ensign_Crab, to quarks in Paramount and Comcast are reportedly considering a streaming partnership

    Paramount is desperate to enshittify.

VindictiveJudge, to quarks in Warner Bros. Discovery just canned another nearly finished film

The film cost them $72 million to make, so this is a $42 million loss. If they actually released the movie they probably would have at least broke even. I have a hard time seeing it not making more than they just wrote off.

cuchi, to quarks in Reddit has a new AI training deal to sell user content

I HAVE AN IDEA! What about… put the subreddits on private again? /s

    SilverShark,

Questin is, is data of private subs still sold? Likely it is.

    cuchi,

If Reddit want it, yes. That’s why that protest was one of the worst attempts of making noise on internet what I ever seen.
