I don’t know if this is a good idea or not, but one thing that could be helpful is some sort of Where to Start guide for Star Trek books. I’ve been meaning start reading some but with the amount of Treklit that’s out there it could be nice to have some sort of page with some good places to start/suggestions.
Love to see success stories like this, hopefully this’ll kick things into motion for SAG-AFTRA’s success
One thing I noticed is no one from Paramount was mentioned to be at the negotiations starting on the 20th even though they’re in AMPTP, wonder why (then again a lot of other people in AMPTP wern’t there but they’re still pretty big so idk)
Starting on September 20, after a studio fumbled restart in August, Warner Bros Discovery’s David Zaslav, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos, NBCUniversal’s Donna Langley and Disney’s Bob Iger finally sat down directly with WGA chief negotiator Ellen Stutzman, as well as former guild presidents David Goodman and Chris Keyser and other members of the WGA Negotiating Committee in hopes of a breakthrough.
I solved the cause of the issue (I think), it being caused by my browser caching the images/pict-rs urls weirdly (whenever i would clear the cache or open an incognito/private it would work fine), but I wasn’t able to really fix it on the default UI. Not saying it isn’t impossible to fix, just that I’m not smart enough to do it lol (though I have told the sysadmin). If it isn’t working on Liftoff too though that’s strange, since Liftoff seems to work fine for me. The best “solution” for me on desktop seems to be to just using an alternative UI like Photon, since it pulls the image in a different way which makes it load correctly (that and the fact that Photon is just great all around and the dev is cool). For mobile, I would think Liftoff would be working since it seems to work for me, but I don’t mainly use Liftoff (Photon FTW), maybe try using a different app and see if you have the same problem?
BTW this is what I see right now on the default UI:
Yeah, all I can tell is that the url of the file on the server seems to be changing and devices are caching the old url. Using a different image hosting service like imgflip/catbox.moe/selfhosted image server for the image uploads would probably solve that problem, but that’s pretty much the extent of my knowledge
Some of the image stuff for me is just my device caching urls that change, but I don’t know why so many urls are changing
I’m not getting the failed to vote thing, but maybe that’s because you are using startrek.website as your instance instead of another; probably just timing out because whenever I pull up the site it is always a bit slow to load
Nah, posting Star Trek memes is like therapy or meditation, it centers you. A problem would be spending four and a half hours troubleshooting gif/webp compatibility for Lemmy-UI while having things to do and in the end getting neither done.
Even more curious is when I view the post on lemm.ee, since if I open the image in a new tab by clicking on the image, it pulls up the actual image but when clicking on the link to the image under the title it goes to the same wrong URL that my instance has
