It's been a good time here on kbin.social. But the lack of perspective and communication has done it for me. I lost hope that the instance would heal eventually and will move to another place instead. Hope you're ok Ernest and all the best for the future.
I hope it goes on. And being open source, it definitely will! (e.g. Mbin)
Ernest likewise will be remembered, fondly or otherwise, for his contributions in starting it.
That said, I’m close to personally blocking it due to all the spam hitting other servers from it, and the FBI may come knocking soon as well if people decide to hit it with illegal stuff like CP.
@ernest, we love you man, and we're grateful for the service you provide. But this site has needs that can't be met by one person: community mod approval, emergency status communication, spam management, and account management are just a few that immediately come to mind....
I think a lot of us have had the same thoughts looking around kbin.
We all appreciate the work Ernest has done, but we really need someone to dedicate some time to picking out a team to help him, but it seems like that's not happening for whatever reason. I know there's a few other people in the codeberg, but I believe there was a falling out there. What we really need in addition to that though is just generic admins.
So to my immense joy, Hexbear has started appearing on the front page again. Instance blocking is not available, and even the regular block feature sometimes fails (on certain communities?) for no clear reason. I've already tried blocking their "DuNk tAnK" and politics sub, it errors in a way that doesn't seem to happen...
Same experience here, blocking does not work, Ernest knows but I guess it's not priority number one right now. It's a deal braker for me. Thank you so much for the filter option!
I like to explore new/all sometimes to find new communitiies so that's unfortunately not helping. And it's really only a problem with hexbears, everything else blocks just fine.
Is this thread monitored? Asking because, from what I observed, that federated Hexbear(dot)net users and communities don't seem to be possible to block. Or should I use the contact form?
So long and thanks for the nice time. (kbin.social)

Request for an off-site status communication method and more admins to help run the site & communicate with users (kbin.social)

So… what's going on? (kbin.social)
Since the beginning of the year, there's been a bit of a pattern over on @kbinDevlog:...
Can't block Hexbear communities - with workaround (kbin.social)
