Die4Ever, to fediverse in I think we should slightly rethink how login works on most Fediverse apps (Mastodon, Lemmy, but not only)

tl;dr: apps should login with the username die4ever@programming.dev similar to email, instead of choosing instance programming.dev and then typing in die4ever for username separately

yea that probably would be simpler, I’m sure some apps already do this

Die4Ever, to fediverse in How to add federated communities to kbin.social?

use Kbin’s search and search for @community_name@server, it’s the same as Lemmy except you use an @ sign at the front instead of an ! sign

there’s been some talk about changing the way the URLs are formatted for Lemmy

Yes I always thought Reddit’s rules against self promotion were pretty dumb. Like how did Reddit want people to find out about cool new things that Redditors make? From other news sources and then post to Reddit afterwards? That makes no sense and just means Reddit is the last place to find out about the cool thing that the Redditor made.

Now with Lemmy and KBin we have the chance to self promote again, and we need more posts anyways.
