I have an issue with creating threads on federated magazines, it does not appear on the remote server, but does here.

HidingCat,

I have this issue, I realise. Is this a Kbin thing or a federation thing?

I can safely comment on federated instances.

HidingCat,

Yea, comments aren't an issue, but my recent threads aren't going through, it seems. Which is weird, because I know I've posted weeks before and it was fine.

Notification issue I ran across today - a person can delete a message in a thread leaving "deleted by author" but the message still shows up in notifications (or part of it since notifications cuts them off at some point).

macallik,

Having issues searching for any federated content w/i kbin

Lodespawn,

Is there a way to stop videos and audio from autoplaying? Browsing kbin on Firefox mobile and it keeps randomly playing some unknown audio.

speck,

Ever find a fix for this? News videos keep autoplaying for me on Firefox mobile, even before I scroll to the post in the feed

Lodespawn,

Sadly I haven't yet, the same think happens to me, random news videos autoplaying, even when not on screen yet. I'm fairly confident there's no setting to turn off video autoplay on kbin. Sadly even if you tell Firefox to not autoplay videos the videos continue to play, the Firefox mobile settings seem to be limited in that respect though.

I wonder if turning it of on the desktop browser site settings and then syncing will fix it.

Lodespawn,

Hrmm I think I have automedia preview set to on. I've turned it off and will see if this fixes it. I say think as the UI for the kbin page settings isn't super clear what's on and what's off ..

Lodespawn,

Err well that maybe worked but it also stopped all images loading in the feed so not really helpful

speck,

Yes, I think that's where the problem may lie, loading images has been intertwined with video autoplay

Auster,

Is this thread monitored? Asking because, from what I observed, that federated Hexbear(dot)net users and communities don't seem to be possible to block. Or should I use the contact form?

xep,

I've noticed this too. Is there any workaround? Some Hexbear users are egregious and clutter up posts with meaningless noise.

  • Auster,

Since this appear to be the most proper thread, I'll keep posting as I see issue. Hopefully a staff member will see the bug reports, then.

    Auster,

[Issue] Subscribing to magazines from the @readit.buzz domain makes the page redirect to the 50x error page. Despite the error, subscribing still turns out successful.

    Auster,

[Issue] Another domain with issues when subscribing: @lemm.ee. Also redirects to a 50x error page and subscribing still works for the account despite the error.

    Auster,

    Also for @lemmy.fmhy.ml domains

    Auster,

    @lemmy.fmhy.ml domains still error out.

    CarlsIII,

    Test

    CarlsIII,

My posts seem to become invisible to me after I post them, and I am unable to view any comments to my posts, even my own. I get notifications that I have comments, but when I click the notification to view the thread so I can read the full comment, all of the comments are missing.

    Auster,

Maybe you have something blocking them? Try to disable all your plugins and check any of such hidden posts again, or even do so through a new profile altogether, if your browser allows profiles.

    Auster,

@crystals.rest domains also have issues subscribing, redirecting to a 50x error page despite successfully being subscribed to.

    speck,

Longer comments have a band at the bottom of the text with a double arrow which, when click on it, is meant expand and show the rest of the text. On mobile, it doesn't uncover all the text. Is there an option to disable this feature so that comments are not collapsed?

    Zedstrian,

Too many posts weren't federating with kbin so I had to make a lemmy account to avoid missing comments from non-kbin communities, so hopefully the federation issues get fixed at some point.

Hi, not sure if this is the right thread but here goes.

    Issue:
Threads do not seem to federate properly.

    Description:
Until a month ago or so, submitting a thread to a federated instance (tested on: feddit.it, sh.itjust.works) threw an error page, but the thread was regularly posted. Example: https://feddit.it/post/1868675

As of at least 2 weeks ago, the error page remains but threads do not federate anymore. Example:
    https://kbin.social/m/teoriamusicale@feddit.it/t/546143/Analisi-di-Pezzi-Pop-5-Faith-Hill-The-Way-You

If it can be of help, posts, links and comments seem properly federated to the same abovementioned instances, i.e. appear on target instances within a few seconds. No error displayed when submitting.

Hope this can be addressed sooner or later. Right now I'm using local accounts on those instances to work this around.

Posting this here for now since codeberg seems to be inaccessible. I'll move it over there (if there's not already an issue on this) once it's back.

With the new update came edit labels, but the relative edit time seems to be wrong. After editing a comment, it says "edited in 2 minutes" and counts down.

edit: this seems to be a general issue with timestamps on kbin for me since the update. The comment creation time too, it seems to be set to 2 minutes in the future.

Just a heads up - since the recent updates, on desktop, clicking on link preview in a comment will make the link and the little icon disappear but no preview loads: https://files.catbox.moe/o41qu7.jpg
Clicking the link itself opens it in a new tab as normal.
