Pamasich, @ernest
I've noticed this week that I'm currently seeing no visual indication that the boost button is active. No underline, color, or anything.
It seems that a now-broken userstyle I'm using expects there to be an "active" class applied to the element, but it isn't anymore. Is that intentional?
Figured I should point this out to you in case you don't know already.

Might as well show this one as well
Mastodon ehh same on Misskey.
rideranton, (edited ) I've submitted the second to last #kbin #API PR for review! This PR adds thread and thread comment retrieval, creation, deletion, editing, voting, reporting, and moderation functionality to the API! The last PR will be very similar to this one, except for microblogs!
Didn't you have the API 'complete' like 2 months ago?
Yes, but it did not have any tests written to verify that it worked. These PRs have been resolving that issue so that there can be at least some guarantees that the API works when it gets onto kbin.social and others
(Also, please remember to buy @ernest a coffee if you are able, he's been burning the candle at both ends to support kbin.social and deal with personal business)
genesis, Why are the microblogs not working properly?
testing, @genesis i get your question! what does annoy you the most?
ernest, @testing Can you repeat your tests regarding tags between kbin and other instances? It should be significantly better ;)
testing, @ernest
thank you! tags from kbin do federate on microblogging fedi - kbin users should use the the tags section rather than the text body though
- i also had a look at friendica; sadly, friendica seems not to be capable to pick up tagged posts from kbin > see e.g. https://friendica.opensocial.space/search?tag=kbin > tried my luck at several friendica instances, and every time: no content from kbin
- tags in kbin threads do not display on kbin pwa, e.g. https://kbin.social/m/kbinDevlog/t/692551 > on microblogging fedi platforms, i can see three tags: kbin, fediverse, and kbinDevlog for the magazine > with kbin pwa, neither
kbin
norfediverse
show up
ernest, @testing Thanks for the summary. I will check those cases.
ThatOneKirbyMain2568, Another update to my #kbin userstyle idkbin (now at 1.2.6.1)! The "new comment" marker recently added by Ernest is now stylized by idkbin (mainly to work with rounded edges), and a bug with borders has been fixed. #kbinmeta #kbinstyles
EDIT: Typo.
btp, Is there any way to search or filter the abandoned magazines list?
ThatOneKirbyMain2568, Made a small update to my userstyle idkbin following the recent #kbin update. Colors the user follow & block buttons + some other fixes. #kbinmeta #kbinstyles #kbinMeta
Skavau, Would it be of interest for someone to set up an /m/abandonedcommunities or /m/findamod or even some /m/revivedcommunities magazine to act as a megaphone for revived communities of interest, or to bring attention to unused communities? I know there's abandoned list but it's effectively a big wall of communities.
Damaskox, Would it be acceptable in kbin etiquette to add a tag in at least one thread in a magazine I created, and when talking about stuff in other places that touch the same topic, I use the same tag there as well to "promote" the existence of the magazine?
daredevil, @Damaskox I'd imagine it's alright, as long as you aren't doing so excessively. Other magazines/places might have a rule or disclaimer in the sidebar that will give you a rough idea on how they feel about it. In fact, I'd say that's almost encouraged in addition to being one of the features I appreciate the most about /kbin compared to lemmy or reddit.
ernest, @Damaskox The magazine tags work in a way that automatically adds content to it that someone has tagged, for example, on Mastodon. The magazine's name is automatically a tag. I've seen comments on this matter, and I'll be addressing it soon to improve the mechanism and provide a detailed description of its operation in the admin panel. So, for example, all posts tagged #books on the microblog will be included in the magazine "books," but you can add a tag like #novels in the panel if you want those tags to be included as well.

Today, I will be slightly less available as I am in the final stages of taking care of all the formalities, and I also had to handle a few personal matters. Starting tomorrow, I will be back at full capacity again. When this succeeds, in the next releases, I will focus more on frontend and accessibility.
e0qdk, @piotrsikora @ernest FYI: lemmy.world is blocking us
I made a comment there yesterday trying to get your attention on this, but not sure if the @ on that post actually went through properly or not, so I'm trying again.
bluGill, arrgh, just hit report and submitted for spam, then realized I meant to report the post below the one I reported. Sorry about that, I don't see any undo.
Damaskox, (edited ) I receive an error when I'm trying to delete a comment.
EDIT: I tried deleting again later and I think the duplicated comment was gone.
