I disagree, I'm able to get world events while they are happening realtime, from both reporters and lay people, and see which way the event is being colored and manipulated by comparing the two. It's invaluable.

I don't know what happen when you block instances, but when I've blocked entire instances, post comments simply dissapear, not from the instance mind you, random posts comments will just not show up (this is a known but when KBIN users block instances, and has been addressed a number of times, but not fixed by @earnest text below)
we should be able to block and filter text, threads, users and instances, but alas, it's not a fully fledged social media network yet, which is curious since on mastodon you can block anything and anyone, and they simple cease to exist, which is how it should word everywhere in the fediverse

hey @earnest, original (and multiple since my bad poster here) I just wanted to drop a note here, and wanted to thank you for your response. i couldn't see any replies to my original thread this morning, figured it was users that i had blocked trolling me through some loophole in the blocking/"not really blocking" feature, and reposted a couple times today.
i will stop doing that now that you sent me that message, i'd sure like to see the other replies to this thread (your thread) but can't see a single comment.
take your time, do your thing, i truly utterly and gratefuly appreciate you taking the time out to respond to this, and your efforts, preivous and ongoing are valued and i'm just glad kbin is a workign alternative to lemmy. wish you nothing but good for your family, and other ongoing commitments, and here's to the future of kbin!
it's not trolling or spam, it's just me being a fucking idiot. my apologies. i had two domains blocked, and in doing so, triggered a bug which kbin users sometimes run into, that being specifically not seeing comments if they have any domains blocked, i had two, i deleted the blocks on the domains, and presto, like magic i can see comments. no spam, just stupidity, mine.
Blocking isn't working, can't view my notifcations, both get the weird error screen, is anyone at all still working on kbin, is anyone out there to assist in fixing these things?
